Homeschool Kids --by Sandra Wellens
Aren't told to sit down and shut up during school each day, or are told to settle down or they will have to be on Ritalin
Aren't told they are stupid or laughed at when homeschooled.
Never have to beg to be allowed to go to the rest room, or need a hall pass to get a needed book.
Can wear shorts to school and go bare foot in the classroom.
Enjoy an a/c classroom, and can have class at the beach
Don't have to respond to "group think" ways of learning and can learn at his/her own pace.
Can read the newspaper or watch CNN to get the daily news. Or research the many versions of history books to see what each author has to say on a subject instead of learning from just one textbook.
Can learn to cook, clean, sew, and grow things.
Can explore subjects outside of the normal classroom taught subjects.
Can pray openly and read the Bible during class.
Can say the Flag pledge every day and can learn to be proud of our heritage.
Don't have to worry about teen violence or peer pressures, as they are safe at home.
Don't have to worry about stressed kids bringing guns to school.
Don't have to ride buses during snowstorms in order to meet attendance quotas.
Can stay in bed sick and have school when they feel better (even if that's late at night).
Can learn about creation and decide for themselves if we are decendants of apes.
Can go to Gramma's in the middle of the week or to a museum during school time.
Can have a mobile classroom --so learning is done without the walls of a typical classroom.
Can learn that learning never ends, even after you graduate from high school.
